The City Learning Centre's purpose is to promote and develop new and exciting ways of learning through the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Blackpool CLC combines state-of-the-art facilities and expertise to provide learning opportunities to a network of local schools (primary and secondary), the local community and local businesses.

We work with all the schools in Blackpool to provide a motivating and challenging environment that helps raise standards by working in new ways using ICT

There are over 100 CLCs around the country and Blackpool CLC is the largest.

Our facilities include:

A Sony Professional TV Studio
A state-of-the-art Radio Studio
4 x IT Suites (2 Mac and 2 PC))
A 100-seater Lecture Theatre
A dedicated Final Cut Pro Video edit suite
4 x meeting rooms for which catering can be provide for by our own in house team
A public Cyber Cafe
A Cafe serving hot and cold food, drinks to full buffets for large numbers
A large car park area

Students and adults have access to the centre's state of the art facilities via ICT courses and ICT enhanced projects, Community groups can get involved by having tailor made activities designed for their specific needs.

Teachers and trainers benefit from the centre's cutting edge facilities by being able to learn, update and refine their knowledge.

The CLC is also available for local businesses and commerce to host training sessions and conferences.

PC1 is our main Teaching and Learning space, it has 31 dual boot Apple Macs.

PC2 is a Windows only room, containing 30 machines and is mainly used as our CAD-CAM room. It also has the benefit of a board meeting type centre unit so it can be used as a meeting space also.

PC3 is also a Windows only room, this is for smaller groups (10 students plus a trainer). This room can also be used as a meeting room.

Our corridors are regulary used as an Art Gallery by various artists and various prints and images can be purchased from our Reception.

We also have a 100 seater lecture theatre, this is fully equipped with state of the art IT and audio equipment as well as featuring video conferencing equipment.
